For some strange reason I did not look out my front windows yesterday. I was really in my funk, and stayed in the Dragon's Den all afternoon to evening. So I was unhappy this morning at 5:30 AM when I opened my front door to a snowball surprise. The cherry tree is blossoming. Yep. There will be cherries aplenty at the Boe's this summer. How wonderful you say. Yum Cherrys. Please, please feel free to come and pick them. They are wonderful tasting, but messy as all get out on my yard. I know I complained about cold weather, but I'm hoping for a single frost. Just a simple one to kill some of the blossoms. However, the tree does look very pretty. really.
On to another note, here is my blog to complainning. To those of you who have children who play sports. I understand your need to support your child. I completely incourage it. But please stop parking in front of my house!!!
The park across the street has been there for 4 years. In the 4 years people have picnicked, walked, biked, played, and enjoyed. It's a simple park. There is a small playground and well the only place to park is on the street.
This year the park is overrun with parents watching their kids play soccer. The cul-de-sac is completely covered in strangers cars. I can barely drive down the street. This happened Saturday, Monday & now Tuesday. The park is not built for organized sports. There is no place for anyone to sit, and did I mention, NO PARKING?
Dan found out from one of the neighbors that when the city voted to put in the park, the residence were promised that there would be no organized sports. Then Dan talked to some of the spectators and found out that they were kicked out of the place they usually play. So what?!?! I was willing to not care about Saturday, but honestly, they are going to play every day? We're thinking of putting up a sign in front to ask people not to park there, but I'm not sure if that's totally legal. I'm going to get on the city website and find out what we can do. Who we can complain to. The grass in the park is not made for this kind of abuse and it will surely turn ugly if the sports are played 6 days a week.
Now that I've completely ranted, I'm going off to bed. Water Aerobics was good tonight, but I am so tired......
