Ah... Sweet sound of ..... wait for it..... nothing! No Christmas Carols, no jingle bells, no urgent need to spend money on others.
Now don't get me wrong. I love the holidays. Really. But after a time I'm really pretty done with them. I did a giant portion of my shopping on line this year, and I have to say that On Line is the WAY TO GO!
I have also decided that if I wasn't so adverse to wrapping gifts, I would hire out to do it for others. Surely there are other people like me who would PAY someone to do the wrapping. I don't know exactly when it happened, but I went from a Love of Gift Wrapping to: Is it awful to just hand it over in the store bag as is?
This years gifts were pretty much in bags (yes gift bags, I'm not a total beast yet) and boxes. I even spent some extra money on gift tins and just threw stuff in those. I found some lovely gift boxes made for DVD's, and found that even games will now fit in them too. I bought a bunch and used Post it notes to tag. * I don't know if Post-it has invented Christmas-y looking note pads, but they should. The post it's let me dum, dum, dee, dum Recycle my bags and boxes. YEA!!!
My Christmas haul was good this year. I asked for and got a Kindle. I LOVE MY KINDLE! Love it.
Lorie's Parents even got me a Gift Card to Amazon for $50.00. I love them as much if not more than my Kindle.
The next favorite gift I got was my wooden blocks. Bill and Beth made me some wooden blocks that spell Friends. They are so cute. I adore them!!! I am putting them on my planters box until I can get a shelf up in my living room. I also loved the bath stuff, and games, and movies, and rock tumbler as well as the Zhu Zhu pet. The pet is way fun.
I hope that everyone enjoyed the reindeer I made and the tons of gifts I bought. Hopefully I get a bonus this year so I can pay all that Christmas Cheer off. lol
Dan's 40th birthday also came around and Our good Friends the Poen's let us use and abuse their house to surprise him. I am so glad they were so generous as it was an AWESOME surprise for him.
Now it's time for the tree to untrimmed, and the Halls to lose their deck. Boxes to be packed and ornaments to be put away until next year. I am so happy to get it done. Now, to focus on the New Year. Happy New Year everyone!
