I have offically become addicted to audio books. Dan let me spoil myself and I got to spend some of our tax returns on mp3's. I love to buy them on eBay because I can usually get them for almost 1/2 price and I can get them on MP3. I got a 4 GB MP3 player for Christmas and I've been dying to put some books on it.
I bought 8 books (6 are a series) and put them on my MP3 player. I have been listening to them ever since. Even though I have read the books several times over, I still love to hear them read to me. I can play games on the computer, do the dishes, drive in the car, and work. I get to have some great background noise and giggle over my favorite parts.
In the week since I've gotten the books I have listened to 6 of them. I have fallen to sleep listening and it's worked great to get past Dan's snoring. Even as I type this post I'm listening.
I'm so tempted to buy more. I need to budget my money as I go on my leave of absence in a couple of weeks. It will be at 60% pay, but then I can use my vacation to get my house clean for when my brother-in-law comes to visit.
I seriously love them to the point that I keep running down the juice in the MP3 player, AND I even took it into the tub with me instead of my usual paperback book. I've not read a regular book in over a week. lol
I certainly wouldn't buy a book I haven't read before, but since I love to re-read books that I greatly enjoyed, I'm sure my MP3 library is going to grow. The best part though, is that Dan is enjoying listening to them with me. When he wants to hear, we through the disc in our computer or suround sound player, and listen while we're in the dragon's den. It's totally awesome to share something like that. Finally Dan and I can talk about a book that isn't Harry Potter (the only books that we both have read.)
My next goal is to clean out all my paperbacks that I don't like. My book cases are overflowing, and eventually I am going to run out of audio books to buy. (They are twice the price of paperbacks). So you know I will need to buy more.
But until then..... in goes the ear buds and on goes the player.
